Welcome to the home of CLUB SODA’S COURSES TO CHANGE YOUR DRINKING

Noticing who

Particularly if you are a social drinker, it’s easy to just go along with the crowd. It’s a normal human reaction to want to fit in. Being social can be a big part of what makes us happy.

Or perhaps drinking is something that you do with your partner. Alcohol can be woven into our closest relationships from our first dates to our anniversary celebrations. For many couples, sharing a drink together at the end of the day is a chance to unwind and reconnect. And a surprising number of people have never had sex sober.

Or maybe you are a solitary drinker. We tend to drink more at home, and we drink more when we’re on our own too. And there are lots of us in that position. Ironically, if you’re a solitary drinker, you’re in good company!

There is, of course, a wide spectrum of drinking habits from social drinking to solitary drinking, and most of us are somewhere in between, in different situations and at different times. But it’s useful to pay attention to who we drink with, who we don’t drink with and who we can say no to – or not. All of that information is useful as we start to make practical plans to change our drinking.

Changing your drinking doesn’t have to mean changing your friends. One of the things to learn as you stop drinking is to be with people and not drink.
