Welcome to the home of CLUB SODA’S COURSES TO CHANGE YOUR DRINKING

Coming back from disappointment – a personal note from Club Soda co-founder Laura Willoughby

I see you. I know how hard this is, and how difficult it can feel when we find ourselves blown off course. All the self-doubt, the shame, the recriminations. So many of us in Club Soda have been there. The disappointment can feel huge, and hard to come back from, but it is possible.

If you think about it logically, which we are, practice almost always makes you better. It may take lots of practice (four times for my driving test here!) and change may be very small and incremental, but we get closer to where we want to be each time. We rarely look back at learning something, anything, and think we are worse off. That it was not worth it.

However hard things may feel at the moment, remember that you are practising a new behaviour, habit, lifestyle. Treat yourself kindly as you move forward. Learn from your mistakes and see this as a journey. Learning new skills shows that you are progressing.

In this section I want to focus on you, being kind to and having compassion for yourself, and your strengths. You are stronger than you know, so let’s spend a little time together rebuilding.
